Roles, members, and partner organizations
What admins and members can do, how to manage your team, and how collaborating with a partner organization works.

Grant writing is a team sport, and PowerGrant is priced accordingly: every plan includes unlimited seats. Here’s how the pieces fit together.
The two roles
- Member — does the actual work: writes and refines drafts, manages the knowledge base, runs funder research.
- Admin — everything a member can do, plus the org itself: inviting and removing teammates, changing roles, billing, and organization settings.
The person who created the organization starts as its admin. Give a second person admin early — PowerGrant won’t let the last admin remove themselves, but you don’t want org management bottlenecked on one calendar.
To add people, see inviting your team.
Managing your team
Open Settings → Organization to see everyone in your org, change a teammate’s role, or remove someone. Removing a member takes effect immediately; their work — drafts, facts, comments — stays with the organization.
Belonging to more than one organization
One account can belong to several organizations — common for consultants and fiscal sponsors. Use the organization switcher to move between them. Each org’s knowledge base, drafts, and billing are fully separate; nothing leaks between organizations you belong to.
Collaborating with a partner organization
For joint applications, an organization can invite a partner organization to collaborate on a specific project — a university center working with a community nonprofit, for example. The partner’s team works in that shared project without joining your organization, and everything outside the project stays private to each side.
If you don’t see collaboration options, ask your admin — the invitation is sent by a project’s lead organization.
