What does PowerGrant do?
1. PowerGrant helps you write high quality grant proposals using your organization’s real history, numbers, and voice, strictly drawing only from a verified knowledge base that you curate. Any content that will help the AI understand your organization and mission helps. Past grant applications – both wins and losses – are especially useful because they help the AI know what’s proven to make for an effective answer. Also useful are past papers, annual reports, program descriptions, marketing content, transcribed interviews or presentations and leadership bios. The AI then writes section-by-section drafts grounded in what you’ve already told it. 2. PowerGrant helps you find funding opportunities by doing deep analysis of your Knowledge Base to determine what your ideal funder looks like and then recommends private foundations to you based on the result. You can also describe your ideal funder and PowerGrant will make recommendations accordingly.
How is this different from ChatGPT and the others?
The standard large language models won’t know the answer to most grant application questions but will confidently pretend to – and the result will sound like AI, not like you. PowerGrant writes only from facts you’ve verified, and when a data point or specific example would make an answer stronger, but is not available, the AI will encourage you to supply it. New facts are added to your Knowledge Base for future reference. In that way, PowerGrant gets smarter the more you use it.
Will the AI use my real numbers, or just plausible-sounding ones?
The AI will only use the real numbers you provide. Your Knowledge Base is the sole source of truth. When the AI needs a metric or outcome it can’t find there, it asks and never guesses. If a fact in the knowledge base becomes outdated but is incorporated into a draft answer, editing in the new number will teach the AI to use it going forward. You will never be surprised by a hallucinated statistic in front of your funder.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Your knowledge base is yours to add to, delete from or export at any time. PowerGrant will never hold your content hostage.
Who can see my data?
Your data is visible only to those teammates you invite to work with you in PowerGrant. When using our cross-organizational collaboration tools, each collaborator decides what portion of their Knowledge Base is visible to the other.
Does it work for federal, state, and foundation grants?
Yes — the underlying mechanics are the same across funder types. Your knowledge base feeds drafts for any application format. Boilerplate sections (mission, history, financials) come from your verified facts; question-specific responses are drafted against your knowledge base.
Trust + privacy
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. PowerGrant uses commercial AI APIs specifically configured to exclude training.
Where is my data stored?
On managed cloud infrastructure in the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit. We use Supabase (Postgres) for primary data and Google Cloud for compute.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You retain access for the remainder of your billing period and can export your knowledge base at any time. After cancellation, we retain your data for 30 days, in case you change your mind, and will delete it sooner upon your request.
Billing
Is there a free trial?
PowerGrant offers a 7-day trial with full access to the platform. A card starts the trial and you are not charged until day 8. You can build your knowledge base, draft a real proposal, and search for funders. If PowerGrant fails to fit your workflow, cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. It’s even easier to close your account than to open it. One click in your account settings. You keep access through the end of your billing period. We don’t prorate, but we also remove all cancellation friction.
Do you offer nonprofit discounts?
We like to think that the price of a PowerGrant subscription already has a nonprofit discount baked in and it’s what everybody pays, except for Enterprise users. There’s no separate "nonprofit tier" because the whole product is a nonprofit tier.
