How the 7-day free trial works
What the trial includes, when your card is charged, and how to cancel if it's not a fit.
Updated August 28, 2026
Every PowerGrant plan starts with a 7-day free trial with full access to the knowledge base, unlimited drafts, Funder Finder, and your whole team. Trial accounts can ask up to 20 Query questions a day; subscribers get unlimited Query.
The basics
- A card is required to start, but you are not charged until day 8.
- Checkout asks you to tick “I agree to PowerGrant’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy” before the Subscribe button will work. Both are linked from the checkbox.
- You pick your plan (Basic or Plus, monthly or annual) when the trial starts. That’s the price that applies when the trial converts — and you can switch plans during the trial without losing trial days.
- Your trial end date is always visible in the badge at the top of the app and under Settings → Billing.
Canceling during the trial
One click, no friction:
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Click Manage subscription. This opens your secure Stripe billing portal.
- Choose Cancel. You keep access through the end of the trial, and your card is never charged.
If you come back later you can resubscribe any time, and everything you built is exactly where you left it. One thing to know: the free trial is one per customer — if your organization has already had its trial, or you’ve had one in another organization you own, a new subscription starts billing right away rather than opening another trial.
After the trial
When day 8 arrives, your card is charged for the plan you picked and you roll straight into a normal subscription. Everything you built during the trial — your knowledge base, drafts, and funder research — carries over untouched.
